Foundation for Swiss Art History (SSK)
The Foundation for Swiss Art History (SSK) was established in Bern in 1991. It is closely linked to the GSK, is subject to the supervision of the Federal Foundation Supervisory Authority, and receives support from the Swiss Confederation.
In collaboration with the GSK, the Foundation is responsible for the scholarly inventory and research of Switzerland’s site-specific art and architectural monuments, and for the publication of the results of this work. In consultation with the GSK, it aims to contribute to teaching, research, the promotion of early-career scholars, and continuing professional development in the field of Swiss art history. It supports the GSK in academic matters in the pursuit of its other statutory objectives. It may also conduct its own academic research in the field of Swiss art history and make the results available to third parties in return for payment (expert opinions, information, etc.) or publish them.
